7 for 7

Up the Railpath we go!

West End YMCA Walking Club WALK #7
Sunday, September 08, 2013 at 9:00 a.m.

In attendance: Seven!

Route: West along College to Dundas
Northwest to the Railpath
North along the entire path, and back down again
We retraced our steps, home

Length: 1.5 hours

Distance / Pace / Steps: about 8.26 km / comfortable pace with a few quicker intervals / almost 8000 steps

Weather: sunny, cloudless morning, coolest day we’ve had so far (but we warmed up!)

How was it? a great start to the day. and nice to discuss ideas for future walks (great stuff ahead!)

What came up? Travel, photography, camping, films (TIFF is on and at least two of us are attending), dining out, families, pets, reading (book club!), language, fitness, walking destinations, polar bears! Also: future brunch walks (because a few present today missed that and thought it sounded terrific) (they were right, of course). Coming soon: a fall walk to enjoy some changing leaves. Sooner than we  know it: cooler weather! Dress appropriately – lots of thin, adjustable layers. If it is slippery or really miserable out, we can vote on walking the indoor 100 meter track. But… I hope we can stay outdoors, all year long!

Ideas to suggest for a great group wander? Comment below. And join us next week!

Have you joined us already? We hope to see you often.
Can’t make it? No worries! Drop in whenever you can.

  1. Great walk on September 8th. Wonderful talks – looking forward to knowing my new companions better! I love the feet photos Lori. Thanks for organizing us and for your ongoing good cheer. Remember ladies – the legs are the last to go!

    • Guess what? MapMyWalk has awarded an achievement award for our walking time on the Railpath today.
Think you can beat us??? Hah! Just try it!
We’ll be back. We now have a record to uphold, and improve!
