Several fall walks


I was on holiday, including some beach-hiking! Fell behind on posts so this is a quick catch-up.

West End YMCA Walking Club
WALKS #11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 
16, 17, 18: 
Sundays in fall 2013, usually at 9:00 a.m.

In attendance: We are now many!

Route: Downtown west, and further: neighbourhood streets, by streetcar to Allan Gardens (and back on foot), in and around Kensington Market and Chinatown, a visit inside 401 Richmond (too late in season to enjoy roof garden) and a wander in Parkdale.

Length: 1 to 2 hours

Distance / Pace / Steps: 7 – 10 km / comfortable pace, with some quicker intervals
If you walk to Y and home: probably at least 10,000 steps.

Weather: Sunny suits us. Wind and rain? No problem. And cooler walks seem to make for happy walkers!
(We are relieved to learn this!)

How was it? Great. New walkers, new friends and a new appreciation for our city.
Oh yes, and for WALKING!

What came up? Every topic imaginable. Friends, families, books, films, food, sailing, gardens, pets, working, working out, things to try together, destinations to visit next time, or the time after that.
