Please FOLLOW us, below! This week’s info in a sec!
We meet at Toronto College Street West End YMCA Sundays, 9:00 a.m.
We then set out on foot for wonderful conversation, fresh air and to walk.
We walk for one to two hours, and cover six to ten kilometres.
Not to mention covering all sorts of interesting topics,
and seeing intriguing architecture, businesses,
blooming or greening plant life… and even other walkers!
Wear comfortable shoes. Terrain is fairly easy (mostly sidewalks).
Pace is moderate. All are welcome. See you soon!
Here is this week’s update and plan:
Hello Sidewalk Warriors! (✯ Thank you Nilla, for that! ✯)
Last week, we got soaked! Great fun, though. We marched up the RailPath to the Wallace Street pedestrian overpass bridge. Enjoyed some great wildflowers and graffiti.
Then we wandered along Dundas towards The Junction area. The morning was flying past, so we didn’t get far. Enjoyed a great walk home along treed and nicely gardened streets, when – surprise – it began to rain. Really rain!! Did we care? Nope! Just kept on walking. More Junction in future!
Definitely a four-star walk! ✯ ✯ ✯ ✯ (See previous post for lots of pictures.)
This week, Sunday, July 20, we’ll enjoy the day, whatever thunderstorms it may bring! We walk to Bloor West Village, just for fun. If weather allows, we’ll grab a beverage somewhere and enjoy it outdoors. (If the weather does not cooperate with this lovely anniversary plan, we shall descend upon a welcoming café and enjoy festive mid-morning refreshment therein.) (That means: join me for tea or something. I know a place!). We’ll walk back by a slightly different route.
Requests for future walks? Comment here, or bring your ideas along on Sunday. We are accumulating a great list of destinations.
See you in the usual place, Sunday, 9:00 a.m. Bring water.
Invite a friend to join us? Great!
