and seeing intriguing architecture, businesses, cats, dogs,
plant life, history, street art… even other walkers!

Comfortable shoes. Easy terrain (mostly sidewalks). Moderate pace.
See you soon!

This week’s update and plan:

Friday, November 23 we’ll walk east and back to explore some interesting history: how the Portuguese-Canadians created a new life here, and how the neighbourhood evolved. Neat plan, suggested by our friend, Adrianna. We’re basing our route, roughly, on the Portuguese Canadian History Project, a York University initiative. Should be a bright thing to explore on a grey Sunday. Come along for the company, the neighbourhood insights, and maybe we’ll enjoy a custard tart, to wrap up!

Some of us couldn’t join the group walk last week, so it was a tiny perfect group of two! Anne Marie photographed, and Skylar shared this report of their excellent Sunday morning wander:

… last Sunday’s walk: to see the Bay’s Christmas windows at Queen & Yonge. Walking in large, lazy snowflakes along College… through TrinityBellwoods Park to Queen Street. We chose the south side of Queen… window gazed our way to The Bay’s sweet windows and read the winter/Christmas rhymes. It took us an hour and a half because of stopping to admire things of interest along the way. We went into the Eaton Centre for a pit-stop and a tea/coffee pastry/cookie break. Then… to Trinity Square labyrinth and did a snowy meditative labyrinth walk in, with time in the center, and then out again. We then did a bit of Eaton Center ‘looking’ and took transit home.

It was a wonderful walk…
Here are Anne Marie’s photos of that walk:
