We said farewell to a couple of new friends, with a banquet! We took a very c-c-c-cold walk over to Chinatown and shared a wonderful dim sum feast to bid good-bye to Beat and Myrtha. We’re going to miss you two, and your great company! Thanks for joining us over the last couple of months. It’s been a treat to have you visiting and walking with us each week.
The morning was sunny, and the walking was easy. Nice change from last year’s icy February sidewalks, as some of us recall! Here are a few photos of our excellent walk. And brunch!
And this week’s plan:
Sunday, February 22, 2015: One word. IceFest!!!!! We’ll walk over to the Yorkville area and see what headway the ice-sculptors have made, so far. Carving demos start Friday, and there is an ice-sculpture competition on Saturday, so we might see nifty examples of this year’s theme, “Frozen in Time.” We’ll leave at our usual time of 9 and get there around 10, so we’ll be ahead of the crowds. This event doesn’t get an official start until noon. Some sculptures may be covered. No promises! Sunday should be a slightly milder day. And sunny! Let’s see if we find some sparkling icy wonders to admire. And then enjoy a walk back through the U of T campus.
Are you reading about our club for the first time?
Welcome! You really should walk with us!
