We’re hitting our stride!
But first, about last week:
We took a walk south, along Bathurst and all the way down to the lake. Passing various interesting shops and city activity, we arrive at the foot of the street and the entry to the sub-lake pedestrian walkway over to the Island Airport, now known as the Billy Bishop Airport.
And, as promised, under the lake we went! Enjoyed a scenic visit on the other side (just in the airport – you can’t explore that end of the island), then headed home.
That walk brought us 10 kilometers closer to Bracebridge!

This Sunday, November 13, 2015:
Let’s add more kilometers to our distance. By March, we need to “walk” to Bracebridge.
Plenty of time left, as long as we aim for about 10k per walk. Can do!
Watch for information here, in the next month or so, about the Bracebridge or Bust! MEGAwalk.
This week, we’ll visit some historical plaques. Do you have any idea how many of them are in our city? Neither do I! (But we can find out… ) Not sure they can keep accurate track of such things. We’ll try to see ten of them this week, and save some of the more distant ones for other walks. Sunday should be mainly sunny, with a high of 12º (that’s Celsius, for those reading from afar). Not too bad, for a fall walk. After recent winds, the leaves are mostly gone, but there is still plenty to see.
As always, please bring friends to enjoy the morning with us.
Coming right up:
Cooler weather. More opportunities for bundling up in layers. Soon: public sculpture, downtown.
It seems Brookfield is not hosting those amazing snowflake sculptures, this year. Disappointing! But there are plenty more walks and sights to enjoy. How about returning to the Centennial Conservatory for their lovely seasonal display of plants… with mulled cider and shortbread? Yes!
Are you reading about our club for the first time?
Welcome. You really should walk with us! See you in the morning!
