Spring blooms in the cold

This week, something different.
But first, about last week:

We had to get back to the garden. Allan Gardens greenhouses, that is. Not a single leaf or blossom disappointed. And it was a pleasure to visit Jorien’s school, on the way. And to see turtles and koi and a squirrel and even bunnies (!) in the greenhouses. A glorious morning. Have a look. Go in person, if you can. The Easter display of blooms and bulbs is on show until April 24. It’s a perfect escape from our odd weather!

And now, Sunday, April 10, 2016:

Let’s go see more of those artist-painted and wrapped signal boxes. They are everywhere, and yet we often walk right past them. The artists are given an interesting challenge – to make these functional objects more appealing, or somehow say something about their locations. Some of them do so, brilliantly.

Coming right up:

Wonderful spring walks. If spring arrives!
(If it does not, well, don’t put away that winter coat just yet.)

To consider: Jane’s Walk in May. Two years ago, we created a terrific Jane’s Walk ourselves and welcomed lots of others to the neighbourhood, on our “Dinner” wander. Then, last year, a few of us crammed several walks into that weekend. Head-spinning! Check out the website and see if anything appeals. I already know a couple of walks I’ll take. I hope you’ll join me for some of them. If we walk together, fabulous. And if we don’t… go anyway. You won’t regret it. Next year, we hope to create another Jane’s Walk to share with the city.

See you soon!

Are you reading about our club for the first time?

Welcome. You really should walk with us!
See you in the morning!
