Evidence of fall

We return to the Don!
But first, about last week:

High Park beckoned. So did brunch. We had a beautiful grey day for our walk, with old friends and new. The pumpkins waiting for Hallowe’en the next day really “popped” – all over the neighbourhood. Delightful. Enjoyed good conversation over brunch (and longer).

Thanks to all of you for another wonderful Sunday morning. After brunch, we headed out together and then split up to take different routes home. Of course, some of us ended up checking out a favourite neighbourhood fruit market on the way back. Couldn’t help it. Julie, thank you for being such a sport about that! (Everyone needs to be dragged into a store to smell guavas, right? Right!)

What a walk – Hallowe’en lawn ornaments, both fun and spooky, beautiful autumn leaves, and your very good company. A couple of surprises, too. Boo!

Of course we’ll head back to High Park for a winter walk, so if you missed it, no fear!

THIS WEEK,
Sunday, November 06, 2016
:

Meet at the Y at 9:00, as usual. TTC fare needed, as we will take streetcar east to the end of Carlton, and through Riverdale Park to the Don River… to walk south, as far as we can. It should be a good day to see more leaf colour change, and maybe those south Don murals! Let’s see where we end up! If we’re lucky, we may be able to see the nifty outdoor sculpture at Bridgepoint, across the river. (If that’s not obvious through the trees, we’ll just go there another time to check it out.)

Potential for walking home, or streetcar. (Also, potential to walk partway home and have hot chocolate, you know where!)

This mild weather may continue for a bit. Let’s enjoy it, considering the interesting weather we can expect in a month or so! Of course, as you know: I’m all for that, too. So dig out the long johns and dubbin up your boots, for later!

COMING RIGHT UP:

The Humber River! Later: Christmas flowers at the Allan Gardens. Good walks ahead!

Feel free to bring a friend along to share our walks. See you soon.

What?!
You’re just finding WestWalking for the first time?!

Welcome. You really should walk with us!
See you Sunday!
