Scottish secrets in TO!
But first, about last week:
MEGAwalk!!! And the beach! And brunch, too. What a week.
Thanks to MEGAwalkers Heather and Julie for joining me in our usual 10 kilometres around the Y’s track. Nice to be indoors for one walk! And thanks to colleagues Ana, Kai-Li and Ravi for joining us, too. And thanks to Cathyann for treating us to restorative refreshments, afterwards! Saturday’s fundraising walk was a real success, so thank you so much to all who participated – whether you were with us, or sent good wishes, or wonderful donations, or volunteered welcoming participants in the morning… everyone played a part. Thanks to all!
Then, on Sunday morning, a few of us ventured out to the Beach again, by transit. This year’s Winter Stations were interesting. A couple of them needed a little work, but that’s always the way when installing something in an unfamiliar setting. So… the “hot tub”? Maybe not so great. It needed an attendant! And a couple of others? Sinking into the sand (to the point where we worried that they might tip over)… not ideal.
We had some favourites – the pieces using reflection and recycled materials ranked high.
A very nifty creative effort and an interesting way to wander along the lake and explore. This ain’t the AGO, but the projects are always worth seeing. And we had good clear weather for it. Rather breezy, so we felt we’d earned our brunch at the famous Tulip! (No, we didn’t have steak.)

Sunday, March 12, 2017:
AN EARLY START: Please don’t forget to set your clocks forward on Saturday night.
Meet at the Y at 9:00. We’ll check out Glasgow and Glen Baillie, right in our own neck of the woods.
No idea what I mean? Well, these two are among this week’s BlogTO recommended “secret streets” of Toronto. We’ve visited one, a couple of years ago. Time for another look. This won’t be a long walk, so if a morning stroll suits you, c’mon along!
COMING RIGHT UP:
A spring walk? A concert? Trees, blooming bulbs, theatre, and more. Stay tuned!
And please feel free to bring a friend along to share our walks. We’ll see you soon.
You’re just finding WestWalking for the first time?!
Welcome. You really should walk with us!
See you Sunday!
